Manchester Gilbert and Sullivan Society
The society provides an interesting and entertaining programme of events, once a month between October and May. Many members of the society have close links with other related societies including performing societies and some members have professional links in the G&S World.
Non members are welcome to attend meetings
The Society aims to stimulate interest and develop knowledge of the Savoy Operas and their authors; it is not a performing society but enjoys friendly relations with local amateur societies.
It enjoys a variety of speakers, concerts and study evenings at its monthly meetings, held at the Cross Street Chapel, Cross Street, Manchester, on the first Tuesday of the month from October to May.
The Society is the senior branch of the parent Society in London and is affiliated to some two dozen branches throughout the world. Membership includes an annual subscription to the “Gilbert & Sullivan News”, published three times a year.
WE EXTEND TO YOU a warm invitation to become a member. Reminders/announcements of meetings are normally sent out on the Savoynet mailing list, about three weeks in advance.
For we are merry folk, who would make all as merry as ourselves’.
