Princess Ida

 

In studying and comparing two different D'Oyly Carte recordings of Princess Ida from the 50s and 60s, Great Savoyards will be assessed and facts about their lives and careers discussed by John Coates.

 

 

The March meeting, presented by John Coates, studied and compared the 1950s and the 1960s DOyly Carte recordings of Princess Ida and assessed great Savoyards and discussed facts about their lives and careers.

The tempi taken by the two conductors and many other aspects were illustrated and brought to our notice.
