"Merely corroborative detail"

The D'Oyly Carte Story

Paul Taylor presents,
with added illustrations a most interesting,
BBC Radio 2 Programme
from 4th June 1995.

This was found by John Coates in the BBC archive.

The programme is presented by Michael Simkins, an actor and great D'Oyly Carte fan.

He looks back at the 100 or so years of the company's fortunes, playing excerpts from many of their recordings of Gilbert and Sullivan, with reminiscences from some of their greatest stars.

This includes Rutland Barrington and two other performers who worked with Sir Arthur and WSG.
Also contributions from Derek Oldham, Tom Round and Donald Adams.
With Paul's added illustrations this will be fascinating and something different.
